Ein erfolgreicher Maler lebt isoliert und alleine in einer kühlweißen Wohnung im grünen Nirgendwo. Als er unerwarteten Besuch seines Sohnes erhält, gerät der Vater und Künstler außer Balance.

We follow a painter, a successful artist living alone and isolated. Driven only by his work, he finds himself lost when he is forced to deal with his unannounced son and other outsiders that stand in the way of his work and get him out of balance.

Hlynur Pálmason, Jg. 1984, absolvierte die Danish Film School, En Maler ist sein Abschlussfilm (Bester dänischer Kurzfilm Odense Film Festival 2013, Bester Kurzfilm Reykjavik International Film Festival 2014). Auf seiner Webseite schreibt er über sich selber: „I’m an Icelandic artist / filmmaker. I live in Copenhagen, Denmark with my wife and three children. The summers are spent in my studio in Iceland.“ Hlynur ist derzeit mit seinem aktuellen Kurzfilm Seven Boats (2014, 10  min) auf Festivaltour und bereitet sein Langfilmdebüt vor.

Hlynur Pálmason, born 1984, graduated from the Danish Film School, EN MALER is his graduation film (Best Danish Short Film Odense Film Festival 2013, Best Short Film Reykjavik International Film Festival 2014).
