Zum zweiten Mal realisieren wir in Kooperation mit dem Crossing Europe Filmfestival Linz die neue Programmschiene für den europäischen Filmnachwuchs: Cinema Next Europe.

Wir haben nach jungen Filmschaffenden gesucht, die mit ihren aktuellen Arbeiten starke Visitenkarten vorlegen und von denen wir glauben, dass sie neue, interessante Stimmen im jungen Kino Europas sein werden. Für das diesjährige Programm haben wir zwölf Filme ausgewählt; darunter das spannende Spielfilmprojekt Heimatland, ein Film, der von zehn jungen Schweizer Regisseurinnen und Regisseuren gemeinsam realisiert wurde. Als Eröffnungsfilm der Programmschiene gibt er ihr auch den diesjährigen thematischen Faden: Heimatland – Wonderland.

Wonderland ist auch der Titel einer das Filmprogramm begleitenden Podiumsveranstaltung, bei der 3 RegisseurInnen der Sektion über the State of Young European Cinema diskutieren werden.

For the second time and in collaboration with Crossing Europe Film Festival Linz, we present a new programme scheme for young and emerging filmmaking in Europe: Cinema Next Europe.

We have looked for young filmmakers, who present strong profiles with their current work and of whom we believe to become new, interesting voices in young European cinema. For this year’s program we have selected twelve films, including the fascinating feature film project Wonderland, a film that was jointly realized by ten young Swiss directors. As the opening film of this program section, it also defines the overall theme of this year’s selection: Heimatland – Wonderland.

“Wonderland” is also the title of a podium talk with 3 directors of the Cinema Next Europe section, where we discuss the state of young European Cinema.
